Canadian National Defence, training gymnasium
A gymnasium means a clearance height free of all structures. This enlargement was made with bearing columns of 53 feet high (16 m) and seven (7) twenty-three (23) tons trusses that had a span of 172 feet (52 m) and a depth of 12 feet (3.6 m). Fabricated and tried in-plant, they were delivered in 3 sections for a high precision assembly on the jobsite. These trusses followed the slopes of the roof for an adequate drainage.
